The NOUS project invites you to the workshop “NOUS & Beyond: Building Bridges Across Data Spaces”

The future of Europe’s digital sovereignty takes center stage in NOUS project’s landmark workshop “NOUS & Beyond: Building Bridges Across Data Spaces” that will happen online on 17 December 2025 at 12:00 PM CET.

A highlight of the event is the unveiling of preliminary results coming from the NOUS project, identifying the necessity of development and wide dissemination of advanced cloud technologies.  Additionally, the first of two planned white papers will be promoted during the workshop, outlining the architectural blueprints for connecting disparate data spaces – a key requirement for the EU’s data strategy – ensuring that sensitive data can be processed locally (at the edge) while still leveraging the power of the cloud.

The theoretical architecture is being tested in four distinct use cases. The workshop will provide a “first look” at the preliminary data from these pilots in the field of smart manufacturing, smart mobility and logistics, aerospace and critical systems and scientific computing.

The event will conclude with a robust sister projects roundtable, highlighting that NOUS is not working in isolation. Representatives from other cognitive computing continuum initiatives – projects funded under the same Horizon Europe programme – joined the discussion to identify synergies.

Bringing together the NOUS consortium members from 11 countries, alongside external experts and sister projects from the EU’s Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum, the event serves as a critical checkpoint for the project’s mission to create a decentralized, “European Cloud” architecture.
