Join Us at the NOUS Final Event: Towards a Sovereign European Cloud-to-Edge Continuum

Date: October 23, 2026 | Co-located with DCAI 2026

Location: University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy (Hybrid format)
We are thrilled to announce the NOUS Project Final Event, hosted as a dedicated Special Track at the 23rd International Conference on Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence (DCAI 2026) in Naples, Italy!
As our flagship Horizon Europe project nears completion, this milestone event brings together lead researchers, industry innovators, and EU cloud policy experts to showcase the breakthrough results of NOUS: A catalyst for next-generation, sovereign European cloud-to-edge architectures.

The NOUS Final Event will spotlight our key research contributions, open-source deliverables, and real-world pilot demonstrations across three core pillars:
  • Decentralized & Intelligent Edge Services: Realizing a seamless, self-orchestrating cloud-to-edge infrastructure tailored to dynamic European market demands.
  • Open-Source Innovation & Interoperability: Demonstrating how NOUS frameworks integrate with existing European data space initiatives (including Gaia-X paradigms) to eliminate vendor lock-in.
  • AI-Driven Infrastructure Optimization: Highlighting advanced cognitive orchestration, dynamic workload distribution, and energy-efficient resource management across distributed nodes.
We invite researchers, developers, and industry leaders to present cutting-edge work alignment with the Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum. Submissions accepted under the NOUS Special Track will be published in the official DCAI 2026 conference proceedings.
Key Topics of Interest:
  • Intelligent Cloud-to-Edge Orchestration and Middleware
  • Data Sovereignty, Security, and Trust in Distributed Edge Frameworks
  • AI/ML Workload Offloading & Edge Intelligence
  • Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Computing in the Continuum
  • Real-world Industrial, Smart City, and IoT Use Cases
The event will operate in a hybrid mode, enabling both in-person networking at the historic University of Naples Federico II and full virtual access for our global audience.
  • Paper Submissions Open: Check the official DCAI 2026 Submission Portal for templates and deadlines.
  • Registration: All DCAI 2026 registrants gain direct access to the NOUS Special Track sessions and workshops.
