Successful Conclusion of the 2026 International Conference on Infrastructure and Platform as a Service Solutions for Europe’s NextGen Cloud

On March 2, 2026, the NOUS project hosted its 2026 International Conference, bringing together a diverse community of researchers, industry professionals, and open-source experts to discuss the future of Europe’s cloud ecosystem. The event provided a comprehensive overview of the NOUS project’s mission: building a federated, sovereign European cloud ecosystem that seamlessly integrates edge computing, HPC, networking, and quantum resources. Key sessions explored four thematic pillars: federated learning and architecture, AI across the continuum, data spaces and governance, and trust and resilience.

Attendees gained insights into groundbreaking work, including federated learning applications in solar power forecasting, decentralized blockchain frameworks, human-centered machine learning for smart environments, and innovative edge-computing solutions for urban mobility. The conference highlighted the power of collaboration, featuring 19 accepted papers and fostering discussions on how to translate technical innovation into measurable real-world impact. We thank all speakers, program committee members, and participants for contributing to a successful event that continues to shape a sustainable, sovereign European data economy.
